Closing Seminar of the Zhenhua Green Transition and Sustainable Development Fund’s “Local Climate Action Capacity Building” Project

On December 23, the closing seminar of the "Local Climate Action Capacity Building" project—supported by the China Environmental Protection Foundation's Zhenhua Green Transition and Sustainable Development Fund—was held. The event brought together 23 national climate policy experts and local government representatives to engage in in-depth discussions on the implementation of “dual carbon” goals, local capacity development, and policy innovation. As one of the key proponents, Hu Min, Director and Co-Founder of iGDP, presented key research findings from the project, including scenario analysis of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality actions and studies on decoupling economic growth from carbon emissions. She highlighted the ACTION 2035 platform, which aims to strengthen local climate governance by establishing regional climate centers, facilitating collaborative research, and building knowledge-sharing mechanisms. The platform is designed to support local governments in unlocking their emission reduction potential and raising ambition for green transformation, serving as a key enabler of climate action across China’s subnational regions.
