About This Event

On August 1, 2025, the Large-Scale Equipment Upgrades and Consumer Goods Trade-In Action: Empowering Guangdong’s Green and High-Quality Development Symposium was held in Guangzhou. The event was hosted by the Guangdong Low-Carbon Development Promotion Association, with support from iGDP and the ACTION 2035 Climate Solution Guangdong Center. The symposium invited representatives from a range of enterprises and research institutions, including Guangzhou Metro, GRANDTOP, Guangzhou Cansemi Technology Inc, Midea Building Technologies, GPCCC, Guangdong Cleaner Production Association, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion of Academy of Sciences. Twenty-three experts shared their experiences in implementing the "Large-Scale Equipment Upgrades and Consumer Goods Trade-In" policy and discussed pathways for policy implementation and opportunities for industrial transformation. The symposium reached a broad consensus: the "Large-Scale Equipment Upgrades and Consumer Goods Trade-In" policy is not only a short-term economic stimulus but also a long-term mechanism to drive green transformation. To further enhance the effectiveness of the policy for the upgrading of Guangdong’s manufacturing industry, all parties committed to contributing to its refinement and implementation.
